NEMAR

NEMAR aggregates and enables analysis of human neuroelectromagnetic datasets (electroencephalography (EEG), magnetoencephalography (MEG), and intracranial EEG) to support quality assessment, large-scale analyses, meta-analysis, and computational modeling.

Key Features:

  • Supported data types: Electroencephalography (EEG), magnetoencephalography (MEG), and intracranial EEG datasets are indexed and handled.
  • OpenNeuro integration: Integration with the OpenNeuro ecosystem for dataset storage and adherence to evolving standards for formatting, identification, and annotation.
  • Data discovery and quality assessment: Enables dataset search, visual exploration, and assessment of data quality to inform subsequent analyses.
  • High-performance computing: Integration with the San Diego Supercomputer Center via the Neuroscience Gateway (nsgportal.org) to execute compute-intensive analyses.
  • Analysis environment support: Supports running selected datasets through various neuroscientific analysis environments and tools via NSG.
  • Meta-analysis capability: Facilitates synthesis of findings across multiple studies for meta-analyses.

Scientific Applications:

  • Large-scale neuroelectromagnetic analyses: Enabling computation over many EEG, MEG, and intracranial EEG datasets for population-level studies.
  • Meta-analysis across studies: Aggregating and synthesizing results from multiple experiments to identify consistent effects.
  • Data quality control and selection: Assessing dataset quality to select reliable data for downstream analyses.
  • Computational modeling: Supporting advanced computational modeling of neuroelectromagnetic signals using curated datasets.

Methodology:

Processing is performed via integration with the San Diego Supercomputer Center's Neuroscience Gateway (nsgportal.org), enabling execution of analyses on selected EEG, MEG, and intracranial EEG datasets using various neuroscientific analysis environments and tools.
