OBIA organizes a structured archive of biomedical imaging datasets to enable standardized data management and support AI development, clinical research, and cross-disciplinary analysis.

- Data Organization: Organizes records using five data objects—Collection, Individual, Study, Series, and Image—to standardize metadata and hierarchical relationships.
- Multimodal Data Acceptance: Accepts biomedical images across multiple modalities, organs, and diseases, encompassing nine imaging modalities and thirty anatomical sites (as of September 2023).
- Privacy Protection: Implements a unified de-identification and quality control process to remove personal identifiers and maintain dataset integrity for research.
