ODG

ODG generates multi-omics comparative databases and enables querying and analysis to integrate published genomics and experimental datasets for comparative genomic annotation and functional interpretation.

Key Features:

  • Customized Database Creation: Generates customized databases that integrate published genomics data with experimental data for comparative analyses.
  • Flexible Graph Database Structure: Implements a flexible graph database structure that supports complex queries and relationships among diverse datasets.
  • Annotation Integration: Imports annotations from InterProScan, Gene Ontology, ENZYME, UniPathway, and other sources to annotate predicted genes.
  • Syntenic Annotation Translations: Performs syntenic annotation translations to transfer annotations between well-studied and understudied species and to locate gene- or nucleotide-level characteristics.
  • Querying and Analysis Capabilities: Supports complex and pattern-matching queries for multi-omics analyses and identification of features such as gene sets or nucleotide locations from association studies.
  • Format Support: Supports most common genomic formats and a generic tab-separated value (TSV) format for user-provided annotations.

Scientific Applications:

  • Comparative Genomic Annotation: Rapid generation of comparative genomic annotations across species, including non-model and understudied organisms.
  • Gene Annotation in New Species: Annotating predicted genes in new or understudied species using integrated annotation sources.
  • Multi-Omics Integration: Integrating omics and experimental data to perform multi-omics analyses and pattern-matching queries for biological insight.
  • Feature Identification from Association Studies: Identifying characteristics of specific gene sets or nucleotide locations discovered in association studies.

Methodology:

Implements a graph database, imports annotations from InterProScan, Gene Ontology, ENZYME, UniPathway and other sources, supports common genomic formats and TSV input, performs syntenic annotation translations, and enables complex and pattern-matching queries to integrate published and experimental genomics data.
