oligo
The "oligo" package is a software tool developed within the BioConductor project to address the evolving needs of gene expression analysis, particularly for microarray data. As the range of microarray applications broadens, the limitations of existing open-source software for analyzing raw data have become apparent. "oligo" offers a more versatile solution that supports a wide variety of microarray applications, adhering to BioConductor's principles of transparency, reproducibility, and efficient development.
This package enhances and extends the functionalities of existing tools by incorporating robust visualization capabilities, streamlined data access, and established preprocessing routines. "oligo" introduces a unified approach for preprocessing microarray data and seamlessly integrates with other BioConductor packages for comprehensive downstream analysis. This general infrastructure benefits user of the "oligo" package and serves as a resource for other BioConductor packages, fostering a collaborative and efficient development environment.
