OPI
OPI provides an R-based interface to control and simulate perimeters and to analyze visual field data for perimetry research.
Key Features:
- Driver Support: Drivers for commercially available perimeters, head-mounted devices, and virtual reality headsets.
- Analytical Tools: The visualFields R package computes deviation values, generates probability maps, and visualizes visual field data.
- Custom Test Development: Support for custom static automated perimetry tests covering up to 50° nasally and 80° temporally, exemplified by an Octopus 900 driver.
- Cross-Platform App Development: Support for driving and testing portable devices including Android-based headsets for cross-platform applications.
Scientific Applications:
- Clinical and translational perimetry research: Use in clinical vision research and perimetry studies to develop and evaluate visual field assessments.
- Perimetry test development and validation: Enables simulation, device-specific testing, and custom protocol development for instruments such as the Octopus 900 and head-mounted/VR devices.
Methodology:
Implemented in R with driver development for perimeters and analytical functions provided by the visualFields package to compute deviation values and generate probability maps.
