Patpat

Patpat searches and integrates proteomics datasets across public repositories to locate protein-specific mass spectrometry datasets and associated metadata in accordance with ProteomeXchange and The Human Proteome Organization Proteomics Standards Initiative (HUPO-PSI) FAIR guidelines.

Key Features:

  • Extensible Framework: Enables searching public proteomics datasets using protein identifiers to locate relevant mass spectrometry data.
  • Multi-Database Integration (2D strategy): Merges results from multiple databases using a two-dimensional strategy to enhance comprehensiveness of search outcomes.
  • Improved Findability (FAIR-aligned): Generates logic from proteomics data and returns dataset metadata to improve the Findable aspect of FAIR in line with ProteomeXchange and HUPO-PSI guidelines.

Scientific Applications:

  • Protein Identification: Locate occurrences of proteins of interest across multiple public mass spectrometry datasets to support studies of protein function, interaction, and expression.
  • Data Integration: Merge dataset results from different repositories to enable comprehensive proteomic analyses across heterogeneous sources.

Methodology:

Search public datasets using protein identifiers, apply a 2D strategy to merge results from multiple databases, and output dataset metadata and generated logic for improved findability.
