PCOSKB

PCOSKB compiles curated data on genes, SNPs, miRNAs, biochemical pathways, and diseases associated with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) to support analysis of its genetic and molecular mechanisms.

Key Features:

  • Extensive Data Compilation: Contains information on 533 genes, 145 SNPs, 29 miRNAs, 1,150 biochemical pathways, and 1,237 diseases associated with PCOS.
  • Curated from Reliable Sources: Data were extracted via critical literature review and from KEGG, DisGeNET, OMIM, GO, Reactome, STRING, and dbSNP.
  • Integrated Data Mining Algorithms: Incorporates data mining algorithms to facilitate comorbidity prediction and identification of enriched pathways and hub genes.

Scientific Applications:

  • Gene–disease association studies: Enables analysis of gene and variant associations with PCOS.
  • Pathway and network analysis: Supports pathway enrichment analysis and network biology investigations, including identification of hub genes.
  • Comorbidity and clinical association prediction: Supports prediction of comorbid conditions related to PCOS.

Methodology:

Data were compiled by critical literature review and extraction from KEGG, DisGeNET, OMIM, GO, Reactome, STRING, and dbSNP, and analyzed using data mining algorithms for comorbidity prediction, pathway enrichment, and hub gene identification.
