Photizo
Photizo analyzes Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy data to enable cross-sample preprocessing, visualization, multivariate analysis, clustering, and macromolecular quantification for chemical characterization and histological profiling.
Key Features:
- High-Throughput Data Pre-processing: Implements scalable preprocessing for large Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectral datasets.
- Versatile Visualization Tools: Provides visualization for spatially resolved and non-spatial FTIR spectral data.
- Principal Component Analysis (PCA): Performs PCA for dimensionality reduction and pattern identification in spectral datasets.
- Clustering: Applies clustering algorithms to group similar spectra and identify distinct chemical or biological features.
- Macromolecular Quantification and Mapping: Quantifies macromolecules and generates spatial maps for histological profiling.
- Flexibility Across Data Types: Supports non-spatial spectra and spatial datasets from scanning-mode IR microspectroscopy and focal plane array detector-based IR imaging.
Scientific Applications:
- Chemical Characterization: Enables identification and comparison of biochemical signatures across samples using FTIR spectra.
- Histological Profiling: Produces macromolecular maps to support tissue-level histological analyses.
- Tissue Imaging: Facilitates analysis of spatially resolved IR imaging datasets for tissue composition studies.
- Biochemical Studies: Supports high-throughput spectral analyses for basic biochemical and molecular investigations.
Methodology:
Implemented in Python, Photizo applies computational algorithms for data pre-processing, visualization, principal component analysis, clustering, and macromolecular quantification and mapping of FTIR spectroscopy datasets.
