Planet Microbe integrates marine 'omics and environmental datasets to enable discovery and contextual analysis of marine microbial communities by linking sequencing data with physical, geological, and geochemical measurements.

  • Data Integration: Consolidates canonical marine datasets such as HOT (Habitat Ontology), TARA, and OSD and annotates them with ontology terms to standardize metadata and support FAIR principles.
  • Data Packages: Implements data containers called data packages that conform to the Frictionless Data standard for structured exchange of datasets.
  • Interconnected 'Omics and Environmental Data: Links each 'omics sample to co-collected biological, physicochemical, and environmental measurements from the same water samples or sampling events to provide environmental context.
