PredHPI
PredHPI predicts host–pathogen protein–protein interactions by integrating public interaction databases and proteome-scale sequence analysis to support identification of molecular targets in infectious disease research.
Key Features:
- Comprehensive Data Integration: Integrates interaction data from HPIDB, MINT, DIP, BioGRID, IntAct, VirHostNet, STRING, VIH-1 NCBI, and PHISTO, including experimental interactions from STRING and curated viral–host interaction resources.
- High-Performance Computing: Processes proteome-scale sequence data from hosts and pathogens on high-performance computing infrastructure to enable large-scale analysis and rapid prediction of HPIs.
- Network Visualization: Produces visual representations of predicted and known interaction networks to support analysis of complex host–pathogen relationships.
- Hypothesis Generation Support: Provides comprehensive HPI analyses to aid formulation of experimental hypotheses for both model and non-model host–pathogen systems.
Scientific Applications:
- Infectious Disease Research: Maps protein interactions that drive pathogenic processes to inform mechanistic studies.
- Therapeutic Target Discovery: Identifies potential genomic and protein targets for development of drugs, vaccines, and other interventions.
- Novel Interaction Prediction: Predicts novel HPIs and visualizes complex networks to expand molecular understanding of host–pathogen interactions.
Methodology:
Integrates interaction datasets from HPIDB, MINT, DIP, BioGRID, IntAct, VirHostNet, STRING, VIH-1 NCBI, and PHISTO and processes proteome-scale sequence data using high-performance computing.
