PROPHECY
PROPHECY maps quantitative yeast genotype–phenotype relationships by aggregating genome-wide phenotyping datasets, gene overexpression results for membrane-spanning proteins, and chromosome-resolved phenotype visualizations to support functional genomics and systems-level analyses.
Key Features:
- Extensive genotype coverage: The database encompasses phenotyping data from 984 heterozygous diploids for all essential genes and coverage across the entire yeast genome.
- Gene overexpression data: Includes phenotypic data resulting from the overexpression of 574 membrane-spanning proteins.
- Comparative growth curve visualization: Visualizes growth curve differences between mutants and wild-type strains to aid interpretation of quantitative phenotypic data.
- Dynamic chromosomal visualization: Provides visualization of phenotypes along individual chromosomes to explore phenotypic patterns and correlations with genomic loci.
- Automated high-throughput phenotyping: Integrates automated data generation and leverages high-throughput phenotyping techniques to systematically capture quantitative phenotypic data.
- Phenotype data integration and mining: Offers tools for phenotype data integration, mining, and visualization for downstream analysis.
Scientific Applications:
- Functional genomics: Supports mapping of gene function by linking gene perturbations to quantitative phenotypes.
- Systems biology: Enables systems-level analysis of gene interaction networks using genome-wide phenotype datasets.
- Disease modeling: Provides genotype–phenotype data to support studies of disease mechanisms and modeling.
- Genotype–phenotype association discovery: Facilitates identification of phenotype–genotype associations through comparative growth curves and chromosomal visualizations.
Methodology:
Integrates automated data generation with tools for phenotype data integration, mining, and visualization and leverages high-throughput phenotyping techniques to systematically capture quantitative phenotypic data from heterozygous diploids and overexpression experiments.
