Psy-ShareD
Psy-ShareD hosts pre-existing structural T1-weighted MRI data collected across multiple sites worldwide, harmonized using state-of-the-art approaches and linked to demographic, clinical, cognitive, and medication data to facilitate research into psychosis and related disorders.
Key Features:
- Multi-site Data Integration: Aggregates structural T1-weighted MRI data from multiple sites worldwide, including the Global South.
- Data Harmonization: MRI T1 data are harmonized using state-of-the-art approaches and made available in image and feature level formats.
- Linked Clinical and Cognitive Data: All T1 data are linked to demographic and illness-related measures including diagnosis, symptoms, and medication status, with IQ, cognitive data, and medication history available in a number of datasets.
- Open Access: Data are free to access for all researchers, not restricted to consortia members.
Scientific Applications:
- Neuroanatomical Marker Research: Enables investigation of neuroanatomical markers in schizophrenia and other psychotic disorders relative to healthy control groups.
- Cross-illness Stage Analysis: Supports research across the diversity of illness stages in patients who experience psychosis, beyond one or two restricted stages.
- Multi-centre Mega-analysis: Facilitates combination of datasets across studies and sites to address inconsistencies arising from small sample sizes and heterogeneous methods.
- Capacity Building: Provides data catalogues and resources to support early career researchers in the field.
Methodology:
State-of-the-art harmonization approaches are applied to pre-existing structural T1-weighted MRI data.
