PureJsImage

PureJsImage decodes, inspects, processes, and converts ordinary images and scientific rasters in Node.js and modern browsers, with explicit readers for microscopy, whole-slide pathology, medical imaging, electron microscopy, spectroscopy, hyperspectral, and multidimensional array formats.

Key Features:

  • Format Support: Provides explicit readers for OME-TIFF, OME-Zarr, Aperio SVS, DICOM, NIfTI, MRC/CCP4, NRRD, DigitalMicrograph, EMD, ENVI, and FITS formats.
  • Range-Backed Readers: Requests selected regions, tiles, volume planes, and metadata while preserving native numeric samples where supported.
  • Zero Runtime Dependencies: The default package has no runtime dependencies.
  • Optional WebAssembly Accelerators: Optional JPEG and PNG WebAssembly accelerators require explicit registration.

Scientific Applications:

  • Microscopy: Decodes and processes microscopy image formats including OME-TIFF and DigitalMicrograph.
  • Whole-Slide Pathology: Supports Aperio SVS and other whole-slide imaging formats for pathology analysis.
  • Medical Imaging: Handles DICOM and NIfTI formats used in clinical and research medical imaging.
  • Electron Microscopy: Processes EMD and MRC/CCP4 formats for electron microscopy data.
  • Spectroscopy and Hyperspectral Imaging: Supports ENVI and related formats for spectral data analysis.
  • Multidimensional Arrays: Handles OME-Zarr and FITS formats for multidimensional scientific datasets.

Methodology:

Implements portable image codecs and low-memory raster processing in strict TypeScript for Node.js and modern browsers.
