PySCeSToolbox

PySCeSToolbox: Metabolic pathway analysis and control modeling suite

PySCeSToolbox performs quantitative analysis of metabolic networks by integrating generalized supply-demand analysis, Symbolic Metabolic Control Analysis (SMCA), and kinetic and thermodynamic modeling of enzyme-catalyzed reactions.

Key Features:

  • Generalized Supply-Demand Analysis: Quantifies effects of substrate and product availability on metabolic network behavior and system-level flux distributions.
  • Symbolic Metabolic Control Analysis (SMCA): Computes symbolic control coefficients to evaluate enzyme contributions to pathway flux and metabolite concentrations.
  • Kinetic and Thermodynamic Framework: Models reaction rates and equilibrium constraints to analyze enzyme kinetics and thermodynamic feasibility within metabolic pathways.

Scientific Applications:

  • Metabolic Regulation Analysis: Investigates regulatory mechanisms, predicts cellular responses under varying conditions, and characterizes systemic behavior in systems biology and bioinformatics studies.

Methodology:

Integrates generalized supply-demand analysis, Symbolic Metabolic Control Analysis, and kinetic and thermodynamic modeling to enable comprehensive simulation, control analysis, and systems-level interpretation of metabolic networks.
