QA-RecombineIt

QA-RecombineIt evaluates and improves the accuracy of 3D protein structure models by recombining fragments from multiple input models to produce consensus refined models for structural biology applications.

Key Features:

  • Quality assessment: Evaluates the quality of input three-dimensional protein structure models.
  • Fragment recombination: Merges fragments from multiple models to create consensus models that integrate the most accurate structural elements and maintain internal coherence.
  • Advanced manual selection: Allows manual selection of specific fragments or entire models for targeted recombination.
  • Batch refinement: Generates up to 100 refined models from provided inputs, which are statistically expected to surpass the accuracy of the initial models.
  • Model source compatibility: Accepts and processes models generated by homology and de novo methods, including models produced by I-TASSER and ROSETTA.

Scientific Applications:

  • Crystallographic protein structure determination: Provides enhanced protein models to aid Molecular Replacement and address the phase problem in crystallography.
  • Protein model refinement: Improves accuracy of homology and de novo models by recombining high-quality fragments across multiple input models.

Methodology:

Performs quality assessment of input 3D models and recombines fragments from multiple models—including optional manual fragment/model selection—to produce up to 100 consensus refined models.
