qPCRtools

qPCRtools: Quantitative PCR Gene Expression Analysis Package

qPCRtools analyzes quantitative PCR (qPCR) data by calculating gene amplification efficiency and quantifying gene expression using multiple computational methods.

Key Features:

  • Gene Amplification Efficiency Analysis: Calculates amplification efficiency to support accurate interpretation of qPCR data.
  • Gene Expression Quantification Methods: Implements Conventional Curve-Based Method (standard curves from known concentrations), 2-ΔΔCt method for relative quantification, and SATQPCR method for alternative expression analysis.
  • Statistical Data Output: Generates comprehensive statistical tables for each quantification method to enable comparative analysis.
  • Data Visualization: Produces box plots and bar plots for graphical representation of gene expression results.

Scientific Applications:

  • Gene Expression Studies: Quantifies gene regulation across experimental conditions or treatments.
  • Disease Research: Analyzes differential gene expression profiles associated with disease states and biomarker identification.
  • Developmental Biology: Examines gene expression dynamics during organismal development and regulatory network analysis.

Methodology:

qPCRtools processes qPCR amplification data by estimating amplification efficiency and applying Conventional Curve-Based, 2-ΔΔCt, or SATQPCR algorithms for gene expression quantification. It outputs statistical summaries and graphical representations to support method comparison and result interpretation.
