QuickFigures
QuickFigures converts microscope images into publication-quality multipanel figures for assembling split channels, merged images, scale bars, and label text as an ImageJ plugin.
Key Features:
- Automated layout creation: Automatically generates split-channel and merged-image panels from a selected region of interest (ROI), including inset generation.
- Flexible panel arrangement: Supports programmatic rearrangement of panels to create custom multipanel layouts.
- Alignment tools: Provides algorithms to align objects and panels precisely within figures.
- Consistent formatting options: Maintains uniform font usage, text positioning, and scale bar accuracy across figures.
- Export capabilities: Exports figures to PowerPoint, PDF, SVG, PNG, TIFF, and Adobe Illustrator while preserving objects and editable text.
Scientific Applications:
- Microscopy figure assembly: Assembly of multichannel fluorescence and other microscope images into publication-ready multipanel figures with split channels and merged images.
- Figure export for publication and presentation: Preparation of figures for PowerPoint, PDF, and Adobe Illustrator with preserved editable elements for downstream editing and collaboration.
Methodology:
Creates split-channel and merged-image panels from a region of interest, aligns and formats panels (fonts, text positioning, scale bars), and exports figures to PowerPoint, PDF, SVG, PNG, TIFF, and Adobe Illustrator preserving editable objects and text.
