RadAtlas: Knowledgebase of Radiation-Associated Genes

RadAtlas compiles and curates radiation-associated genes identified through literature mining and gene expression analysis to support investigation of biomolecular responses to ionizing radiation.


Key Features:

  • Literature-Derived Gene Curation: Extracts and annotates 598 radiation-associated genes identified through systematic mining of PubMed-indexed biomedical literature.
  • Differential Expression Analysis: Identifies 611 potential radiation-associated genes through analysis of gene expression datasets from the Gene Expression Omnibus (GEO).
  • Integrated Gene Repository: Consolidates experimentally supported and computationally inferred radiation-responsive genes into a unified knowledgebase.

  • Radiation Biology Research: Supports investigation of DNA damage, protein damage, free radical generation, and genetic and somatic alterations induced by ionizing radiation.
  • Disease Mechanism Studies: Facilitates analysis of molecular pathways underlying radiation-induced diseases and therapeutic response mechanisms.

Methodology:

RadAtlas was constructed through systematic text mining of PubMed literature to extract experimentally validated radiation-associated genes and differential gene expression analysis of datasets from the Gene Expression Omnibus (GEO) to identify additional candidate genes associated with radiation exposure.
