RM2Target
RM2Target catalogs regulatory associations between RNA modification writers, erasers, and readers (WERs) and their target genes to support investigation of how RNA modifications influence RNA metabolism such as stability and translation.
Key Features:
- Extensive Data Coverage: RM2Target contains 1,619,653 WER-target associations across nine RNA modification types (m6A, m6Am, m5C, m5U, m1A, m7G, pseudouridine, 2'-O-Me, and A-to-I) in human and mouse genomes.
- Comprehensive Annotations: Provides annotations for target genes including basic gene information, specific RNA modification annotations, RNA-RNA interactions, RNA-protein interactions, and associations with related diseases.
- WER-centric Regulatory Context: Captures regulatory relationships among writers, erasers, and readers (WERs) to reflect the dynamic and reversible regulation of RNA modifications.
Scientific Applications:
- Understanding Physiological Roles: Enables investigation of how normal RNA modification processes contribute to cellular functions and organismal physiology.
- Elucidating Pathological Mechanisms: Supports studies of how aberrant RNA modifications and WER-target dysregulation contribute to diseases such as cancer.
- Facilitating Functional Studies: Provides annotated WER-target associations to aid functional analyses of target genes and their roles in RNA metabolism.
Methodology:
RM2Target is an updated iteration of the m6A2Target database expanded to include multiple additional RNA modification types.
