RNALocate

RNALocate aggregates and curates RNA subcellular localization data and prediction tools to support analysis of RNA localization across species.

Key Features:

  • Expanded Data Sources and Species Coverage: Broadened dataset and increased species coverage for comparative analysis of RNA localization across diverse organisms.
  • Integration of RNA-seq Datasets: Incorporates RNA-seq datasets that contain subcellular localization information for transcriptome-level analyses.
  • Enhanced RNA Information Organization: Organizes RNA entries with detailed subcellular localization conditions, methodological figures, RNA homology, interaction data, and ncRNA disease associations.
  • Incorporation of Prediction Tools: Includes the prediction tools DM3Loc, iLoc-lncRNA, and iLoc-mRNA to predict subcellular localization of lncRNAs and mRNAs.

Scientific Applications:

  • Resource Scale: Provides over 210,000 RNA-associated subcellular localization entries with experimental evidence across more than 110,000 RNAs, 171 subcellular localizations, and 104 species.
  • Understanding Cellular Mechanisms: Enables investigation of how RNA localization influences cellular processes and gene expression regulation.
  • Disease Research: Links ncRNA disease associations to RNA localization data to support studies of RNA mislocalization in disease contexts and potential therapeutic implications.
  • Development of Predictive Models: Supports creation and refinement of models predicting RNA subcellular localization using integrated datasets and prediction tools.

Methodology:

Integration of RNA-seq datasets and incorporation of the prediction tools DM3Loc, iLoc-lncRNA, and iLoc-mRNA.
