RNAmute
RNAmute performs RNA secondary-structure–based mutational analysis by evaluating structural effects of single-point and multi-point nucleotide substitutions.
Key Features:
- Single and Multi-Point Mutation Analysis: Simulates single-point and combinatorial multi-point mutations and predicts corresponding RNA secondary structures.
- Suboptimal Structure Evaluation: Computes suboptimal secondary structure solutions and identifies mutations that stabilize suboptimal conformations while destabilizing the optimal structure.
Scientific Applications:
- Structure–Function and Mutagenesis Studies: Supports site-directed mutagenesis design and analysis of evolutionary and functional impacts of structural changes in RNA molecules.
Methodology:
RNAmute predicts RNA secondary structures, generates suboptimal structural ensembles, and systematically evaluates stability changes induced by single and multi-point mutations to identify functionally relevant structural shifts.
