rqt
rqt is an R package to address a significant challenge in genome-wide association studies (GWAS): calculating effect sizes and corresponding p-values at the gene level rather than for single variants. This approach allows for a more comprehensive understanding of the genetic underpinnings of complex traits and diseases by considering the cumulative effect of multiple variants within a gene.
The rqt package facilitates gene-level GWAS meta-analysis, making it a valuable tool for researchers looking to integrate this capability into their bioinformatics pipelines or use it as a standalone solution. Its development stems from the need to enhance the resolution of genetic association studies by moving beyond the analysis of individual single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) to assess the collective impact of genetic variations within entire genes.
