Rsite
Rsite identifies functional sites in noncoding RNA (ncRNA) using tertiary-structure-based spatial analysis.
Key Features:
- Tertiary Structure Distance Profiling: Computes Euclidean distances between each nucleotide and all other nucleotides to generate nucleotide-specific distance curves.
- Extreme Point Detection: Identifies nucleotides at extreme points of distance curves as candidate functional sites.
Scientific Applications:
- ncRNA Functional Site Mapping: Detects active regions in structured RNAs such as tRNA (Lys) and the Diels–Alder ribozyme.
Methodology:
Rsite analyzes RNA three-dimensional structures by calculating pairwise Euclidean distances among nucleotides, constructing distance curves for each nucleotide, and selecting extreme points as predicted functional sites.
