SanPy
SanPy analyzes and visualizes whole-cell current-clamp recordings to extract parameters from action potentials and membrane voltage fluctuations in excitable cells.
Key Features:
- Action Potential Parameter Extraction: Extracts threshold time and voltage, peak, half-width, and interval statistics from action potentials.
- Cardiac Parameter Measurement: Measures early diastolic duration and rate from cardiac recordings.
- Plugin Architecture: Provides extensibility for addition of new file loaders, analysis methods, and visualizations.
- Linked Data Visualization: Links all plots of data and analysis for simultaneous data visualization from different dimensions to support quality control and ground-truth analysis.
- Application Programming Interface: Offers a robust computational engine with an API for programmatic access.
Scientific Applications:
- Cardiac Electrophysiology: Analysis of current-clamp recordings from heart cells to quantify action potential properties and early diastolic parameters.
- Neuronal Electrophysiology: Analysis of current-clamp recordings from brain cells to characterize action potential firing and membrane voltage fluctuations.
- Excitable Cell Function: Interrogation of excitable cell function through quantitative analysis of membrane voltage dynamics.
Methodology:
SanPy is written in Python and provides a computational engine with an application programming interface for analysis of whole-cell current-clamp recordings.
