scEpiTools
scEpiTools is a curated, user-oriented database for discovering, comparing, and applying analytical software for single-cell epigenomic data, spanning modalities such as DNA methylation, chromatin accessibility, histone modifications, and chromosome conformation. It aggregates and annotates more than 900 tools, linking them to relevant reviews, sequencing technologies, and studies to support method selection across diverse experimental designs and analysis goals.
The platform supports keyword-based search and structured browsing across 14 major task categories and over 100 subcategories, with detailed tool metadata (e.g., methodological approach, baseline comparisons, software dependencies, platform, license, and publication venue) and summary statistics describing the tool landscape. Beyond discovery, scEpiTools provides recommendation functions for tools, reviews, sequencing technologies, and studies using dedicated scoring schemes, facilitating efficient navigation, benchmarking, and evidence-based tool choice. To lower barriers to adoption, it offers tutorial-style interfaces for users with limited coding experience and provides downloadable, preconfigured software environments to simplify installation and improve reproducibility.
