Smartphone-RCCT compiles randomized controlled trials of smartphone health applications to support evidence synthesis and evaluation of interventions for managing chronic conditions.

  • Inclusive Criteria: Includes RCTs published in peer-reviewed journals enrolling adult participants diagnosed with one or more chronic conditions where the intervention is a smartphone health application used by patients, with any comparator accepted, outcomes restricted to patient-reported health outcomes (excluding studies solely on disease knowledge or app user satisfaction), and a minimum of 15 participants per study arm.
  • Comprehensive Data Collection: Extracts bibliographic references and key trial characteristics for each RCT to support evidence synthesis and further research.
  • Dynamic Updates: Updated on an annual basis to incorporate newly published randomized trials of smartphone health applications for chronic conditions.
