sRIS
sRIS performs integrated analysis of plant small RNA (sRNA) next-generation sequencing (NGS) data to profile miRNAs, siRNAs (including virus-derived siRNAs, vsiRNAs) and to predict sRNA targets using bioinformatics calculations and degradome sequencing evidence.
Key Features:
- Dual-component framework: Integrates sRNA overview analysis and target prediction into a single analytical framework.
- sRNA profiling: Provides extensive overview analyses of sRNA profiles to identify miRNAs and virus-derived siRNAs (vsiRNAs).
- Target prediction module: Predicts sRNA targets by combining bioinformatics calculations with degradome sequencing data to improve prediction accuracy.
- Support for NGS and degradome data: Operates on small RNA NGS datasets and incorporates degradome sequencing evidence for target validation.
- Host–virus interaction analysis: Enables analysis of vsiRNAs and investigation of synergistic effects between different viruses in plant systems.
Scientific Applications:
- Gene regulation studies: Elucidates sRNA-mediated regulation of mRNA targets in plants.
- Plant–virus interaction research: Characterizes virus-derived sRNAs and their roles in host antiviral responses and viral synergism.
- Target validation: Uses degradome-supported predictions to strengthen evidence for sRNA–target interactions in functional studies.
Methodology:
sRIS performs sRNA overview analysis and target prediction by combining bioinformatics calculations with degradome sequencing data and profiling of miRNAs and vsiRNAs from small RNA NGS datasets.
