SugarDrawer

SugarDrawer facilitates search, depiction, and editing of complex glycan structures to support glycan structural analysis and data exchange.

Key Features:

  • Integrated Database Search: Perform comprehensive searches of glycan structures across integrated glycan databases.
  • Depiction with Ambiguity Handling: Render glycans including underdetermined linkages and glycan fragments to represent structural ambiguity.
  • Structure Editing: Enable editing of glycan structures to modify representation and composition.
  • Attachment Site Selection (SNFG): Select possible attachment sites and represent glycosidic linkage positions using the Symbol Nomenclature for Glycans (SNFG).
  • Format Compatibility: Support input and output of glycan structures in WURCS and GlycoCT text formats.

Scientific Applications:

  • Structural Analysis: Analyze glycan structures while accommodating ambiguous or underdetermined linkages and fragments.
  • Data Integration: Integrate and compare glycan data across multiple databases for combined analyses.
  • Glycosidic Linkage Exploration: Explore possible attachment sites and linkage hypotheses using SNFG-based selection.

Methodology:

Search across integrated glycan databases; depict glycans with ambiguity handling (underdetermined linkages and glycan fragments); select attachment sites using SNFG; support input and output in WURCS and GlycoCT formats.
