TCMIO

TCMIO integrates chemical and target data to link traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) constituents with immuno-oncology (IO) targets, enabling investigation of TCM effects on cancer immune mechanisms.

Key Features:

  • Extensive Data Integration: Consolidates over 120,000 small molecules associated with more than 400 IO targets from public databases and scientific literature.
  • Herb-Ingredient-Target Mapping: Maps ligands to chemical constituents in TCM herbs to connect specific herbs with putative IO targets.
  • Network Inference-Based Approach: Applies network inference methods to predict potential IO targets of natural products within TCM.
  • Cheminformatics and Bioinformatics Tools: Provides cheminformatics and bioinformatics analyses, including chemical structure mining and network analysis.
  • Pathway Enrichment Analysis: Performs pathway enrichment analyses for herbs or prescriptions to identify affected cancer-related pathways.

Scientific Applications:

  • Mechanism Elucidation: Facilitates investigation of molecular mechanisms by which TCM components modulate the cancer immune microenvironment.
  • Drug Lead Identification: Supports identification and prioritization of natural product-derived compounds as potential immunotherapeutic leads.
  • Immunotherapy Research Support: Aids development and hypothesis generation for novel immunotherapeutic strategies targeting IO pathways.

Methodology:

Systematic extraction and integration of data from public databases and scientific literature, followed by network inference to map ingredient–IO target interactions and analyses using cheminformatics (chemical structure mining), network analysis, and pathway enrichment.
