TCMSID
TCMSID provides a curated database and analytical platform for Traditional Chinese Medicine, containing data on 499 herbs registered in the Chinese pharmacopeia, 20,015 ingredients, and 3,270 targets, and enables simplification of herbal formulas, multi-tool target prediction, and multilevel network analyses to support mechanistic studies and drug discovery.
Key Features:
- Extensive Data Repository: Contains curated records for 499 herbs from the Chinese pharmacopeia, 20,015 ingredients, and 3,270 targets.
- Quality Control and Standardization: Provides standardized, curated ingredient data to support reproducible analyses and comparison across studies.
- Simplification Functionality: Implements a simplification function to extract key representative ingredients from individual herbs or formulas.
- Multi-tool Target Prediction: Supports target prediction using multiple computational tools to annotate ingredient–target relationships.
- Multilevel Network Construction: Enables construction of multilevel networks linking ingredients, targets, and higher-order interactions for network pharmacology analyses.
- Analytical Support for Drug Discovery: Integrates abundant data sources and analytical functions to facilitate identification of candidate compounds and mechanistic hypotheses.
Scientific Applications:
- Ingredient prioritization: Extraction of representative components from herbs or formulas for downstream experimental or computational study.
- Target and mechanism analysis: Prediction of ingredient targets and network pharmacology analyses to investigate mechanisms of action of TCM components.
- Drug discovery from TCM: Identification and analysis of candidate compounds and target interactions for therapeutic development.
- Standardization studies: Use of curated data for quality control and standardization research of TCM materials and preparations.
Methodology:
Curated compilation of herb–ingredient–target data, implementation of a simplification function, multi-tool target prediction, and construction of multilevel ingredient–target networks.
