TOM500
TOM500 provides a comprehensive, multi-organ annotated orbital MRI dataset for 500 patients with thyroid eye disease, including T2-weighted MRI scans, clinical data, and expert-reviewed segmentations of nine orbital structures to facilitate development of advanced computational tools for thyroid eye disease diagnosis, classification, and observation.
Key Features:
- Multi-Organ Annotations: Segmentations of nine orbital structures including the optic nerve, orbital fat, lacrimal gland, eyeball, superior rectus and levator palpebrae superioris complex, inferior rectus, medial rectus, lateral rectus, and superior oblique.
- Expert-Reviewed Segmentations: Annotations generated by three junior annotators and reviewed by an expert radiologist, with consistency evaluated using the intraclass correlation coefficient.
- Clinical Data Integration: Includes sex, age, disease duration, and smoking status for disease diagnosis and classification.
- T2-Weighted MRI Scans: Provides T2-weighted orbital magnetic resonance imaging scans from patients during their initial visit.
Scientific Applications:
- Thyroid Eye Disease Diagnosis: Facilitates development of computational tools for automated diagnosis of thyroid eye disease, an autoimmune disorder with distinct orbital MRI features.
- Disease Classification: Supports classification tasks using integrated clinical and imaging data.
- Computational Method Development: Enables creation and validation of advanced computational tools for thyroid eye disease observation and analysis.
Methodology:
Segmentations were generated by three junior annotators and reviewed by an expert radiologist; consistency was evaluated using the intraclass correlation coefficient.
