TPWshiny

TPWshiny provides interactive exploration of transcriptional responses in NCI-60 cancer cell lines to anti-cancer therapeutic agents for pharmacodynamic analysis.

Key Features:

  • NCI TPW dataset: Includes transcriptional responses measured in the NCI-60 cell lines to 15 therapeutic agents from the NCI Transcriptional Pharmacodynamics Workbench (NCI TPW).
  • Interactive visualizations: Generates scatter plots, heatmaps, time-series plots, and Venn diagrams for inspection of transcriptional response patterns.
  • Customizable queries: Supports filtering and querying by drug concentration, time point, gene expression, and tissue type.
  • Data export: Provides downloadable datasets for further computational analysis.

Scientific Applications:

  • Cancer pharmacodynamics: Investigates transcriptional pharmacodynamic responses of cancer cell lines to anti-cancer agents.
  • Drug efficacy and resistance analysis: Examines transcriptional changes to explore molecular mechanisms of drug efficacy and resistance.
  • Hypothesis generation and validation: Enables visualization of complex transcriptional interactions to support hypothesis-driven research.
  • Therapeutic strategy and precision medicine support: Provides transcriptional response data to inform therapeutic strategy selection and precision-medicine investigations.

Methodology:

Implemented as an R/Shiny application that integrates measured transcriptional responses from the NCI TPW dataset derived from the NCI-60 human tumor cell line panel.
