Trimmomatic

Trimmomatic performs quality-based trimming and adapter removal on Illumina sequencing reads to improve data quality prior to downstream NGS analyses.


Key Features:

  • Quality Control: Performs quality checks on raw FastQ files to identify and remove low-quality bases and contaminants.
  • Read Trimming: Removes leading and trailing low-quality bases and supports sliding-window-based trimming to excise low-quality regions.
