VessMorphoVis
VessMorphoVis provides interactive visualization, analysis, automated repair, and high-fidelity meshing of large-scale brain vasculature morphology skeletons to support vascular modeling and cerebral blood flow simulations for studies of neurovascular coupling.
Key Features:
- Interactive visualization and analysis: Represents vascular networks as morphological graphs segmented from imaging or microscopy stacks for exploration and analysis.
- Automated repair of morphology skeletons: Performs automated repair of vasculature skeletons with scalability to datasets containing up to millions of samples to preserve model integrity.
- Three-dimensional representation construction: Sketches and builds three-dimensional vascular representations tailored for visual analytics of complex vascular structures.
- High-fidelity meshing and rendering: Produces high-quality meshes and renderings of vascular morphologies implemented as a Blender 2.8 add-on using the Blender Python API.
Scientific Applications:
- Vascular modeling and simulation: Supplies accurate morphological models required for simulations of cerebral blood flow.
- Validation of reconstructed vasculature: Enables validation and correction of vascular morphologies used in computational studies.
- Study of neurovascular coupling: Supports simulation-based investigations of neurovascular coupling mechanisms using realistic vascular networks.
Methodology:
Morphologies are segmented from imaging or microscopy stacks and represented as morphology skeletons/graphs; automated repair algorithms operate on these skeletons at large scale; high-fidelity meshing and rendering are implemented as a Blender 2.8 add-on via the Blender Python API.
