VIRGO provides a curated non-redundant gene catalog and derived vaginal orthologous groups (VOG) for analysis of metagenomic and metatranscriptomic data from the human vaginal microbiome.

  • Comprehensive Non-Redundant Gene Catalog (VIRGO): Approximately 0.95 million non-redundant genes representing the genetic diversity of the human vaginal microbiome with functional and taxonomic annotations.
  • Vaginal Orthologous Groups (VOG): Orthologous groups derived from VIRGO that enable comparative analyses of evolutionary relationships and functional conservation across vaginal microbial species.
