VSpipe-GUI
VSpipe-GUI provides a graphical user interface for structure-based virtual screening and hit selection of large chemical libraries to support computer-aided drug development.
Key Features:
- Cross-platform compatibility: Functions in Linux distributions, Windows, and Mac OS X as a Python toolkit.
- Spatial filtering module: Filters docked compounds based on specified features at the target binding site, including pocket-based and interaction-based modes.
- AutoDock Vina integration: Performs molecular docking with considerably faster execution compared to the previous command-line version.
Scientific Applications:
- Computer-aided drug development: Provides rapid and low-cost virtual screening of large chemical libraries for further experimental validation.
- Protease target screening: Enables efficient and specific selection of ligands that interact with catalytic residues, as demonstrated on Hepatitis C Virus NS3 (HCV NS3) protease with catalytic serine 139.
Methodology:
Structure-based virtual screening using AutoDock Vina for molecular docking, with a spatial filtering module for compound selection based on binding site features.
