WHONDRS
WHONDRS provides access to and facilitates analysis of surface water metabolite and microbiome datasets to support metabolomics, geochemical, and model-based investigations of hydrologic, biogeochemical, and microbial processes in river corridors.
Key Features:
- Data access and searching: Structured access and querying across surface water metabolite and microbiome samples and associated metadata.
- Data compilation and integration: Compilation and integration of metabolomics, microbiome, and geochemical data types into combined datasets for multi-domain analysis.
- Visualization: Generation of visualizations to aid interpretation of complex metabolite, microbiome, and geochemical datasets.
- Exporting: Export of processed and raw datasets for downstream analysis and model development.
Scientific Applications:
- Model development and prediction: Support for developing mechanistic and data-driven models to predict impacts of hydrologic perturbations on watershed functionality.
- Hydrobiogeochemical process studies: Investigation of interactions among hydrologic, biogeochemical, and microbial processes in river corridors and responses to perturbations such as dam operations, floods, and droughts.
- Comparative metabolomics and microbiome surveys: Facilitation of global surveys and comparative analyses of surface water metabolite and microbiome composition across diverse river environments.
Methodology:
Explicit computational methods include advanced metabolomics analysis, compilation and integration of metabolomics, microbiome, and geochemical data (including measurements from EMSL), searching/querying datasets, visualization, data export, and development of mechanistic and data-driven models.
