WORCS

WORCS provides a reproducible workflow for implementing open science practices to increase transparency and reproducibility of research by organizing academic prose, analysis code, and tabular data.

Key Features:

  • worcs R package: Implements the WORCS workflow as an R package named worcs that operationalizes the workflow.
  • Project template: Supplies a project template to structure academic prose, analysis code, and tabular data within a research project.
  • Utility functions: Includes utility functions to assist in executing specific steps of the workflow.
  • RStudio integration: Targets use within the RStudio environment to apply the package, template, and functions.

Scientific Applications:

  • Adoption of open science practices: Facilitates implementing open science and reproducible-research principles in projects.
  • R-based data analysis reproducibility: Supports organization and reproducibility of analyses conducted using R.
  • Structuring research components: Organizes academic prose, analysis code, and tabular data for reproducible research outputs.

Methodology:

Implemented as an R package ('worcs') that provides a project template and utility functions for use within RStudio to structure academic prose, analysis code, and tabular data and to execute workflow steps.
