IMGT 2Dstructure-DB

IMGT 2Dstructure-DB provides standardized two-dimensional structural annotations of proteins from the Immunoglobulin Superfamily (IgSF) and MHC Superfamily (MhSF) to support comparative and immunogenetic analyses.

Key Features:

  • Standardized annotation: Applies IMGT® standardized keywords, labels, nomenclature, unique numbering, and numerotation systems for consistent representation of structural data.
  • Comprehensive coverage: Contains entries for a broad range of proteins from the IgSF and MhSF, serving as an extensive reference for immune-system components.
  • Integration with IMGT® systems: Integrates with the IMGT® suite, including seven databases and seventeen online tools, to support unified genomic and expressed repertoire analysis of adaptive immune responses.
  • High-throughput data analysis: Supports next-generation sequencing (NGS)–enabled workflows for immunogenetic studies at scale.

Scientific Applications:

  • Basic research: Supports investigation of structural and functional properties of immune proteins.
  • Veterinary and medical research: Enables cross-species analyses to inform translational immunology studies.
  • Clinical applications: Contributes to mutation analysis in diseases such as leukemia and lymphoma to inform mechanisms and potential therapeutic targets.
  • Antibody engineering and humanization: Supports design and optimization of therapeutic antibodies and related constructs, including fusion proteins (FPIA).

Methodology:

Annotations are structured around IMGT-ONTOLOGY and apply IMGT® standardized nomenclature and numbering systems to annotate immune protein structures.
