IMGT GeneView
IMGT GeneView provides integrated sequence, map and polymorphism views of genes for immunoglobulins (IG), T cell receptors (TR), major histocompatibility complex (MHC) and other immune system proteins for immunogenetics analysis.
Key Features:
- Integration with IMGT/LocusView: Integrated within the IMGT/LocusView framework to present comprehensive gene locus representations for immune system proteins.
- IMGT-ONTOLOGY Foundation: Implements IMGT-ONTOLOGY concepts including standardized keywords, labels, nomenclature, unique numbering systems and the IMGT Colliers de Perles (numerotation) concept.
- Access to Diverse Data Types: Provides nucleotide and protein sequences, gene maps, genetic polymorphisms and specificity annotations.
- Genome Analysis Support: Supports exploration and analysis of genomic data related to immune system proteins and complements IMGT/GeneSearch.
Scientific Applications:
- Medical Research: Enables repertoire and mutation analyses relevant to autoimmune diseases, AIDS, leukemias, lymphomas and myelomas, including clinical mutation analysis in leukemia and lymphoma.
- Veterinary Research: Facilitates study of IG and TR repertoires across farm and wildlife species for veterinary immunogenetics.
- Genome Diversity and Evolution Studies: Supports analyses of genome diversity and evolution in adaptive immune responses.
- Biotechnology and Therapeutics: Supports antibody engineering and therapeutic development including single-chain fragment variable (scFv), phage display, combinatorial libraries, humanized antibodies, grafting and immunotherapy applications.
Methodology:
Operates within the IMGT framework using standardized data formats and IMGT-ONTOLOGY for interoperability and integrates data from IMGT databases including IMGT/LIGM-DB and IMGT/MHC-DB.
