IMGT 3Dstructure-DB
IMGT 3Dstructure-DB provides curated three-dimensional structures and domain-level annotations for immunoglobulins (IG), T cell receptors (TR), major histocompatibility complex (MHC) proteins, antigen receptor/antigen complexes (IG/Ag, TR/peptide/MHC), related immune system proteins and fusion proteins for immunological applications (FPIA) to support structural immunogenetics and immunoinformatics analyses.
Key Features:
- Comprehensive Data Collection: Houses 3D structures of IGs/antibodies, TRs, MHC proteins, antigen receptor/antigen complexes, related immune proteins from vertebrates and invertebrates, and fusion proteins for immunological applications (FPIA).
- Annotation and Standardization: Annotates entries using IMGT criteria and IMGT-ONTOLOGY concepts with standardized keywords, labels, and IMGT unique numbering.
- Structural Analysis Tools: Provides IMGT/DomainGapAlign for domain-level amino acid sequence analysis and IMGT/Collier-de-Perles for generating Colliers de Perles graphical representations.
- Search Capabilities: Supports structural queries using IMGT/StructuralQuery to find entries by specific structural characteristics.
- Integration with IMGT Resources: Linked within the IMGT system alongside other databases and tools, including resources for genomic and expressed repertoire analysis and next-generation sequencing (NGS) data.
Scientific Applications:
- Basic Research: Enables structural and comparative analyses of immunoglobulins, T cell receptors, MHC proteins, and related immune molecules.
- Veterinary and Medical Research: Supports cross-species comparative studies of immune proteins across vertebrates and invertebrates.
- Clinical Applications: Facilitates mutation analysis and structural interpretation relevant to diseases such as leukemia and lymphoma.
- Antibody Engineering and Humanization: Provides standardized FR-IMGT and CDR-IMGT definitions and structural representations to inform CDR grafting and therapeutic antibody design.
Methodology:
Annotation using IMGT criteria implemented via IMGT/DomainGapAlign for domain-level amino acid sequence analysis; assignment of IMGT unique numbering and standardized labels; generation of Collier de Perles graphical representations via IMGT/Collier-de-Perles; structural searches via IMGT/StructuralQuery.
