Cogito
Cogito, short for "COmpare annotated Genomic Intervals TOol," addresses the challenges in genetic and epigenetic studies involving diverse experiments and multiple conditions. While raw and processed data are often available in specialized databases, these processed files are typically tailored to specific research questions, hindering a comprehensive, unbiased overview of complex datasets. As sample types and conditions increase, the potential combinations grow exponentially. It is crucial to systematically and efficiently analyze these datasets to avoid overlooking correlations or overrating identified ones.
Cogito provides a workflow for an unbiased, structured overview and systematic analysis of complex genomic datasets encompassing different data types, such as RNA-seq and ChIP-seq, across various conditions. The tool facilitates the visualization of key information from genomic or epigenomic interval-based data, allowing for a straightforward analysis approach when comparing different conditions.
