Computel
Computel is a software tool for calculating mean telomere length from whole-genome next-generation sequencing data. It employs a short-read alignment-based approach and integrates various popular tools for sequencing data analysis. Computel has been validated using synthetic and experimental data, demonstrating superior performance compared to previously available software in accuracy, independence from sequencing conditions, resilience against inherent sequencing errors, and the ability to differentiate pure telomeric sequences from interstitial telomeric repeats.
