Cosbin

Cosine score-based iterative normalization (Cosbin) enhances the normalization of gene expression data, particularly in the context of biologically diverse samples. Traditional approaches to normalization, including the reliance on reference genes or size-factor adjustments, often fall short when faced with substantial differential expression asymmetry across conditions. Cosbin addresses this challenge by utilizing Cosine scores to assess cross-condition expression patterns, iteratively filtering out asymmetrically differentially expressed genes to pinpoint consistently expressed ones for calculating normalization factors.
