Diffany

Diffany is a software tool that allows the generation, visualization, and analysis of differential networks in response to changing environmental conditions or stimuli. It uses a novel ontology-driven framework that can process highly heterogeneous networks, accounting for both physical interactions and regulatory associations, symmetric and directed edges, edge weights, and negation. The tool is available as a free, open-source java library and Cytoscape plugin and promotes comparability between differential network studies. It was successfully applied in a plant abiotic stress study and experimentally confirmed a predicted regulator.
