FABIA
"FABIA: Factor Analysis for Bicluster Acquisition" is a biclustering algorithm that analyzes transcriptomic data. FABIA offers a powerful approach for extracting meaningful patterns from gene expression data by simultaneously grouping genes and samples. Unlike traditional clustering methods, biclustering allows the identification of genes that show similar behavior under a subset of conditions, capturing the complex relationships inherent in biological systems.
The innovation of FABIA lies in its generative model, which not only accommodates linear dependencies between gene expressions and conditions but also effectively models the heavy-tailed distributions commonly observed in transcriptomic datasets. This robust framework enables the application of sophisticated model selection methods and Bayesian techniques, enhancing the reliability and interpretability of the biclusters identified.
