FunRich is a user-friendly software tool designed to meet the needs of biologists who do not have extensive computational and database experience. With the increasing availability of high-throughput techniques, such as proteomics, there is an urgent need for a bioinformatics analysis system that is easy to use and provides reliable results. FunRich is an open-access, standalone functional enrichment, and network analysis tool that meets these requirements.

One of the key features of FunRich is its ability to perform functional enrichment analysis on background databases integrated from heterogeneous genomic and proteomic resources. With more than 1.5 million annotations, this allows users to obtain a comprehensive understanding of the biological processes involved in their data. Additionally, FunRich can be used for proteomics, genomics, lipidomics, and metabolomics datasets, making it a versatile tool for various research areas.

FunRich is also highly customizable, allowing users to build custom databases and perform enrichment analysis irrespective of the studied organism. This feature is particularly useful for labs that work with organisms that do not have well-established databases. Furthermore, the tool provides a graphical representation of the data with customizable font, scale, and color, making it easy to create publication-quality figures.
