Flexbar

Flexbar is a software tool designed to help accurately recognize, sort, and trim sequence tags for read mapping applications, library demultiplexing, and splice leader detection. With the unprecedented depth of next-generation sequencing, it is critical to have a tool that can handle millions of short reads and sequence tags with maximal flexibility.

The software supports data formats from all current sequencing platforms and maintains read pairings while processing separate barcode reads on demand. This makes it incredibly versatile and useful for various experimental designs.

Flexbar is multi-threaded and combines speed with precision, allowing complex read-processing scenarios to be executed with a single command-line call. It also provides the fine-grained adjustment of sequence tag detection parameters and search regions, essential for customizing the software to specific experimental needs.
