InteroPORC

InteroPORC is an automated prediction tool developed for all sequenced genomes available in Integr8. The software tool is used to predict protein-protein interactions in Synechocystis, a widely used cyanobacterium. The tool has been developed to provide insights into the relationships between the proteins of an organism, thereby contributing to a better understanding of cellular processes. Large-scale interaction networks are available for only a few model organisms. Thus, interologs are useful for a systematic transfer of protein interaction networks between organisms. However, no standard tool is available so far for that purpose.

In this study, the developers present an automated prediction tool to predict protein-protein interactions in Synechocystis. Using two methods, the developers of the InteroPORC tool have constructed a new network of 8783 inferred interactions for Synechocystis.

The software tool InteroPORC is highly useful for researchers in the field of bioinformatics as it facilitates the transfer of protein interaction networks between different organisms. The tool can be used to predict protein-protein interactions in Synechocystis and has provided a new network of interactions for the organism. With the availability of the tool, researchers can better understand the relationships between the proteins of an organism and gain insights into cellular processes.
