PANEV

PANEV (PAthway NEtwork Visualizer) is an R package for visualizing and analyzing gene/pathway-based networks. It addresses the growing need for tools to mine and interpret post-genomic and transcriptomic data effectively. By leveraging information from KEGG, PANEV enables the visualization of genes within networks comprising multiple levels of interconnected upstream and downstream pathways, facilitating a comprehensive understanding of the functional profiles of gene clusters.

This tool is particularly valuable for researchers investigating complex biological phenomena, as it allows for creating detailed network visualizations that illuminate the underlying biology and potentially identify functional candidate genes affecting specific traits. PANEV stands out for its flexibility, imposing no species constraints and capable of analyzing genomic and transcriptomic data.

Users can customize their analysis by providing a list of candidate genes, specifying target pathways, and determining the desired number of interconnected downstream and upstream pathway levels for their investigation.
